At SYNAP, we understand that research institutions are under increasing pressure to do more with less — managing complex workflows, large inventories, and critical data with limited time and resources. In support of our mission —
“to empower research institutions with essential tools that transform information into groundbreaking research, paving the way for life-changing discoveries” —
we’re proud to offer the SYNAP Research Support Grant.
This grant provides up to $5,000 in custom development, equivalent to approximately 25 hours of SYNAP development services, to help research teams overcome a specific operational or data bottleneck. We can surprise you with we could accomplish in that time!
This is not a trial, discount, or promotional campaign. It’s an opportunity for us to contribute directly to the advancement of science by helping labs and institutions improve the systems they rely on — with no obligation to purchase additional services. Our only goal is to support great research through thoughtful, purpose-built solutions.
What’s Included:
- Up to $5,000 in SYNAP software development and consulting
- A custom solution designed to address a specific challenge you identify
- Collaboration with a team experienced in lab workflows, sample tracking, and research data infrastructure
Eligibility & Grant Limitation Notes:
- Each award covers development services up to a value of $5,000 or 25 hours of work, whichever comes first. We’ll work closely with you to define a focused, achievable goal for this grant — and you might be surprised what we can accomplish in that time!
- Some third-party software licenses may be required for full functionality (typically $500–$1,500). We will discuss these options with you transparently, and this requirement is waived if you choose to continue development work with us beyond the grant — though there is absolutely no expectation that you do so.
- As a condition of the grant, recipients agree to share feedback on the impact of the SYNAP solution. A written testimonial is required. Video testimonials are strongly encouraged but are optional. We may also publish a brief case study outlining how SYNAP supported your team. No sensitive or proprietary research data will be made public — only high-level project details and how SYNAP contributed to your operational success.
